Obituary For Jestine "Tom" Erving

Jestine Lewis Erving was born to the late Robert and Ernestine Lewis of Sallis, Mississippi on August 8, 1967. She attended Long Creek Elementary School and McAdams High School. She was part of the class of 1987. Jestine married Emmitt Erving in the lovely month of December.

Jestine joined the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was a devoted choir member. She later became head of the Kitchen Committee. Jestine also served as a Prayer Warrior in HIMG Outreach Ministry.

Jestine has been employed with McDonald's in Kosciusko, MS since 1987. While at McDonald's, she had such a positive relationship with those who worked with her, and we all can agree that Jestine was just dedicated and committed to whatever she put her hand to.

Jestine was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lewis, her mother Ernestine Lewis, and two sisters, Levorn Lewis and Bob by Jean Wright.

She leaves to cherish a loving husband, Emmitt Erving; two sons, Alexander (Tanesha) Erving, Emmitt Xavier Erving; one daughter, Destiny (Jermaine) Robinson; four brothers, Robert (Sallie) Lewis, Van Ray (LaTunya) Love, Allen (Carolyn) Lewis, Booker Teon Lewis; five sisters, Willie Jean (Albert) Veasley, Annette (Ricky) Teague, Linda Lewis, Gloria Lewis, and LaWanda (Pat) Love, and LaWanda (Tamara) Lewis, one aunt, Holly Brown; three uncles, Clyde Love, Jack (Pat) Love, and Larry love; six sisters-in-law, Leora, Viola, Mary Lee, Hattie B., Dillie, and Jessie; two brothers-in-law, Van and George Lee; five grandchildren, eight great nieces, nine great nephews, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
