Guest Book

I met Maurice in May 1994 in Phoenix AZ and my first thought was wow this guy is deep! We worked in a very technical area of IT but Maurice had a way of explaining things that even I could understand. We worked together for 16 years and built a friendship that will last for ever. We kept in touch even after I left IBM and my wife and I stopped by Aiken in May 2019 and had dinner with Maurice and a number of his family at a lovely Italian restaurant. We had some great laughs that night and created a memory that will stay with me for ever. Maurice was an absolute gentleman with such integrity, he was joy to know and I feel very privilege to have known him. John Gee

My deepest sympathy to Connie and her family! I met Maurice back in the 80s at AMEX and always remained friends! He listened to me when I would complain about work or personal and he would always say "Marino, it's all good and laugh! He was always happy, calm and never said any negative. He always asked me how's Miss C (my daughter Cristina). I will miss you always and will always remember and cherish the time we had. Love you my friend, Connie Marino or as you would say Marino!

I met Maurice on the first day of school at Aiken Jr High school in 1966. He came over to talk to me before school with him being new to the school in the 8th grade. We talked and became life long friends from that day. We graduated from Aiken HS together and are both alums of USC. In all my life, I have never found a nicer or kinder person. I will always love Maurice and will miss him for the rest of my life. I talked to Maurice almost every week and called him because I was thinking about him on the day he passed. Whether he was living in Columbia, Los Angeles, Phoenix, or Windsor we always visited each other. I can not replace the whole that is in my heart. I cant imagine watching a Gamecock football game ever again and not having Maurice to talk about it with. I will miss you Maurice and will keep you and your family in my heart forever. Life will never be the same without you. To the family, in your time of need, know that Maurice made the world a better place. No one set a better example as a man than my friend. Thank You for sharing Maurice with me. Robert Hall
