Obituary For Ronnie Gardner

With sincere condolences we announce the passing of Mr. Ronnie Gardner 62, Gadsden, Al., who transitioned on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Public visitation will be Wednesday, August 18, 5 - 7 pm; Graveside Service Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Oaklawn Cemetery, 1:00 pm., Eulogist Pastor Darrell Davis, Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Ronnie Gardner was born February 22, 1959, in Gadsden, AL to Mr. Henry Lee Gardner and Mrs. Patricia Ann Bustion Hawkins and he was nurtured and raised by Mr. Fred Hawkins, Sr.

Ronnie graduated from Gadsden High School, Class of 1975 and attended Job Corp in Owensburg, KY. He lived with his brother and sister-in-law and nephews for the last 23 years. He loved his family and getting together for a good meal. He enjoyed watching Bruce Lee movies, the news, ESPN and reading the newspaper. He was an avid Alabama fan and also enjoyed watching his nephews play football.

He confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church and rarely missed service. He loved attending Sunday School and fellowshipping with members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Mr. Fred Hawkins, Sr. Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory: brothers, David Hawkins (Myra) and Jamie Hawkins (Rhonda) both of Gadsden, AL, Fred Hawkins, Jr. (Lynn) of TN, Fredrick Green of KY, Derrick Harvey (NNeNNa) of NY and Henry Gardner Jr. of GA; sisters, Tresea Williams (David) of Gadsden, AL, Laura Bustion Boley of Alabaster, AL, Alfreda Hawkins Carstarphen (Kenneth) of Gadsden, AL, Allison Harvey (Tom) of NY, Glenda Berkely of NY and Angela Gardner of GA; aunts and uncles, Beulah Blue (Edward), David Bustion, Nathaniel “Sonny” Bustion, John Hawkins (Laura) and Charles Cash (Julia); three special nephews, David Hawkins, Jr., Gavin Hawkins and Davin Hawkins. A host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to, Tertius McKee, Jocelyn Woolfork and Steve Huffman Professionals, Gadsden Memorial Funeral Home.

Ronnie was always a joy to see at church i remember he was on the usher board back in the day when my big daddy charlie whitehead sr. Was the usher board president. Now he is in heaven with sis.pat and bro jack.

I will truly miss Ronnie at church and Bible Study. Ronnie would always be the first one there and he was a joy to know. Rest In Peace Ronnie! I am praying for the family.
