Mr. Bryan Lionel Dumas

Bryan Lionel Dumas, son of the late Alexander Dumas and Gwendolyn Abney Dumas was born August 13, 1958 in High Point, NC. He departed this life on Sunday August 15, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Dumas better known as “Dimp” was raised partly in Bronx, NY and returned to NC and was educated at High Point Central High School. He gave his dedicated service to KFC as the head cook for over 35 years at both locations in High Point, but mainly on South Main Street. He was never late and never missed a day of work. “Dimp” was the life of the party everywhere he went. He never met any strangers. His nickname “Dimp” reflected his God-given deep dimples. The simple things in life pleased him and was satisfied with whatever anyone gave him.

In addition to his parents her was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Dumas; maternal grandparents, Richard and Margaree High; uncles, Allen Abney, Jr., Kenneth Abney and Mott Abney; his great aunt, Edna Lilly; special aunt, Constance Allen.

He leaves to cherish one sister, Evangelist Cecilia (William) Patterson of High Point, NC; one brother, Warren D. Dumas of High Point, NC; one nephew, Raymond L. Dumas of Laurinburg, NC; one niece, Khalira R. Patterson of High Point, NC; one great aunt, Lilllie Edwards of High Point, NC; a very special friend to him and the family (like a sister) Beverly Wilson of Greensboro, NC; and a host of aunts, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, friends and his KFC Family.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
