In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Anita T. Helms. Graveside service will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 11:00am at College Park Cemetery 3600 Adams Street College Park, GA 30337. Viewing will be Thursday, August 26, 2021 12 noon-6pm at Grissom Clark Eastlake Chapel.

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye today to Anita Teresa Helms, who passed away August 18th, 2021.

Anita Teresa Helms was born February 1st, 1960, as the third of six children. She graduated Decatur High School in 1978, and went on to a career of over 40 years in Federal Service.

Service was a part of her DNA as a servant of Christ with Lilly Hill Baptist Church.

Teresa always kept things “real”. She was really full of life, and demonstrated real love to her partner of 10 years, David Baugh, as well as to her two children, Pasqueal (Shavon) Bigoms and Charisse Helms, and her two grandchildren, Pasqueal Bigoms, Jr, and Miles Bigoms. She also exhibited countless real love, advice, and honest words to her extensive collection of adopted family and friends.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas James Helms and Sadie Wilburn Helms, and her nephew, Marlo Helms.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren, as well as her brothers and sisters: Shirley Ann Wilburn, Thomas (Rick) Helms, Lillie Ruth Helms, Steven Helms, and Eve Helms; and her nieces and nephews: Shamika (Barker) Jenkins, Krystal Harris, Ikelan Helms, Charlie Wilburn, Christopher Wilburn, and Lashoun Wilburn, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
