Kourtni was an active member of Oro Church where she sang on the choir, served as an usher, and participated in various activities of the Oro Youth Ministry.
Kourtni graduated from Central High School in 2017. She was an honor student, member of the Beta Club and Chorus. Kourtni also played softball and volleyball while in high school. She was offered a volleyball scholarship from the University of South Carolina at Lancaster, where she graduated with an Associate in Science and an Associate in Science in Business on May 2, 2020.
Kourtni was a very caring person with a generous heart and a beautiful smile. She loved cooking, crafting, and traveling to the beach. Above all, Kourtni’s greatest joy was her daughter Nova. She also enjoyed spending time with family and close friends.
Kourtni departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 21, 2021. She was 21 years old.
Left to forever cherish her memories are: her daughter, Nova Lei Hayden; parents, Shuntina Johnson of Pageland, SC and James Blount of Monroe, NC; brother Deaven and twin sister, Taia; sisters Kya and Trinity, and brother Masai; grandparents Lee and Gail Shine of Pageland, SC; Lionel and Rose Blakeney of Monroe, NC; great-grandfather Hiawatha Johnson of Pageland, SC; uncles: Brandon (Ann) Johnson of Ramstein-Misenbach, Germany; Dedrik Shine of Pageland, SC; Lawson Blakeney of Monroe, NC; aunt: Teri Blakeney of Indian Trail, NC; God-parents: Jody and Patricia Sowell of Jefferson, SC and Phelishia Blakeney of Pageland, SC and a host of relatives, friends and loved ones.
The Services to celebrate Kourtni's life were held on Friday, August 27, 2021, 1:00pm, Oro Church, 1485 Oro Church Road, Pageland, South Carolina. Interment followed in the family plot of the Church Cemetery.
