She was a 1968 graduate of Central High School in Mobile, AL and a member of Highpoint Baptist Church in Eight Mile, AL, where Dr. Charlie E. York serves as the Senior Pastor.
Deborah is survived by three daughters: DeAndra (James) Lalanne of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; DeMetria Barnes of Anderson, S.C.; and Courtney Clark of Mobile, AL. Five grandchildren: Astiney Franklin, Jakalyn Clark, Kealan Lalanne, Justin Clark and Courtland Clark. Give great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deborah was the eldest of her siblings: Teresa Lewis Brown, Steven (Melanie) Brown, Julie (Warren) Carr, and Erika Jackson. Two brothers that preceded her in death: William Edward James Brown, Jr. (Spooky Joe), Quintin Brown, and her loving mother, Josie L. Milhouse Brown.
Deborah was an avid reader and loved any kind of mystery novels, to romance novels and even comic books. She grew up in Aimwell Baptist Church in her young formative years singing in the Aimwell choir, very well known for her beautiful voice. Deborah was employed with Mobile Infirmary Hospital where she worked as Phlebotomist for a short period of time before moving on to various other departments during her years of employment with the hospital.
Within the last two and a half years, Deborah recently joined the Highpoint Baptist Church where she enjoyed associating with church members while participating in the Fulfillment Hour (Sunday school). She also joined the choir and the Women’s Ministry.
Deborah was always known as being a jokester and telling jokes with her stories. She will be truly missed by her family. She is forever in our heart.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 28th at 10:00 am in the Prayer Garden by The Lake at High Point Baptist Church; located at 2421 Lott Rd, Prichard, Alabama, 36613. Reverend Charlie E. York, Senior Pastor will be presiding. .
