Wardell was born in Brooklyn to his parents Cordell Striggles and Dorothy Bryant. Wardell who was affectionately known as "WO-DE", was raised in the Bronx with his four brothers and three sisters. He played community football and graduated from Harris High School. He later finished his studies, earning two degrees; an Associates Degree in Applied Science from City University and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from John Jay College.
Wardell loved sports, playing chess and going to the gym. Fitness was important to him. He was very optimistic, always smiling with a kind word to say to anyone who was a part of his life or even just a stranger passing by. He was a people person. He loved telling jokes and he had a laugh that was contagious.
Wardell adored his mother, cared deeply for his family and friends, and was a devoted father! But most of all, Wardell loved God and gave his life to Christ. He was simply an amazing human being.
He will truly be missed!
