Mr. Kevin André Barrier passed away peacefully at his home in Charlotte, NC on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the age of 55. He was born on November 25, 1965, in Portsmouth, VA to Willie Mae Rucker Barrier and the late Allen Marcellus Barrier, Jr. Kevin was also preceded in death by Gertrude Hoover Barrier and Marcellus Barrier, paternal grandparents; Ethel Jackson Rucker and Owen Rucker, maternal grandparents; Juanita Rucker McCaskill and Wallace Rucker, maternal aunt and uncle; and Robert Barrier of Paterson, NJ, paternal uncle.

Kevin was reared in High Point, NC and educated in the High Point City Schools. He was a graduate of T. Wingate Andrews High School – Class of 1984. He enjoyed being a tuba player and member of the outstanding Red Raider Marching Band. In addition to his beloved mother, Mrs. Willie Mae Rucker Barrier, he is survived by his sisters, Eljuana Deneen Barrier of Raleigh, NC and Angela Yvette Barrier of Thomasville, NC; uncles, John (Christine) Barrier of Modesto, CA, Larry Clark (Monica) Rucker, Sr. of Stone Mountain, GA, and Sylvester (Emma) Rucker of High Point, NC; aunts, Delores Davis of Selma, AL, Marlene Dyke of High Point, NC; Gloria Rucker of Louisville, KY and Gloria Shephard of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Branden Marcellus Barrier and Devin Michael Barrier of High Point, NC; niece, Ashley Michelle Barrier of Greensboro, NC; great nephews, Bradley, Branden Jr. (BJ); great nieces, Desire and Nevaeh; his best and special friend, Johnny Cunningham; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and tremendous friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Memorial Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
