Catherine Miles Benning was born on December 8, 1947 in Mobile, AL to Essie Mae Ellezy & Willie (Mary) Horn. She was raised by Mrs. Flossie Miles. She transitioned from time to eternity on August 6, 2021 at Singing River Hospital in Moss Point, MS. Catherine confessed Christ at an early age and was faithful and dedicated member of the Greater Union Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. F. L. Bush until her health began to fail. She was an active member of the Sunday School, Mission Department and the choir. Catherine was a proud graduate of Central High School (Class of 1966) in Mobile, AL where she often told stories of the good ole’ days at Central. She became skilled in the field of Cosmetology while magnificently assisting the owners of Jeff’s Colorific Coiffures for many years. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her sister (Stella Cleveland), her brother (Willie Edwards) and granddaughter (LaKeshia C. Benning). Catherine leaves to cherish her memory; Charles Benning Sr., one devoted daughter, Wanda (Robert) Gill of Moss Point, MS; one devoted son, Charles (Katrina) Benning Jr. of Semmes, AL, four grandchildren; Octavia Benning, Charles Montreal Benning, Joseph (Ishemia)Benning Sr., Kaliyah Benning, four great grandchildren; TyKeshia,Travon, Joseph Jr. and Jamari, A loving sister Lucy Bradley, one niece (Sandra Sanders), one nephew (Bernard Horn), a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, ASpecial Family Mary Blake and children and James Grimes as an adopted son.
