Family Visitation and Community Walk Through 12:00 PM-12:45 PM

Interment: Hilldale Cemetery, Duncan Hill Rd, Danville, KY

Paula J. McPherson, age 70, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of Leroy “Pete” and Betty Sweeney Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Michael Jones, and Steve Jones and 2 sisters, Lydia Jones and Nancy Grey.

Paula was a 1969 Danville High School graduate. Paula worked for the Danville Prosecuting Attorney’s office in the early 70’s and was one of the first African American to work for that office. She was a long time employee of Centre College and also work as a correction officer for 5 years at Northpoint Training Center.

Paula leaves to cherish her memory, 1 daughter, Melinda McPherson, Danville, KY; 2 sons, William McPherson, Louisville, KY and Gerard McPherson of Danville, KY: 1 sister Markeeta Jones; 1 brother Marcus Jones, both of Danville, KY; 6 grandchildren, Cameron McPherson, Tazman (Mahlia) McPherson, Trinity McPherson, Tyrus McPherson, Laila McPherson, Tahj McPherson and Braxton McPherson; 5 great-grandchildren, Skylynn, Santana, Phoenix, Cataleya and Tia; host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Ann and James Henry Griffin, Lanier Bowman, Kelly Graves, Djkarta Johnson, Ricky Porter, Joey Griffin, Linda Tongue, Angela Smith, Veanita Smith and Jeffrey Glasscock and her favorite classmate Gloria Lewis; also a host of other relatives and friends.

I have lost a great friend and a Sister. I am hurting bad. Paula was so kind to me as well as others along the way. She will be sadly missed by all. PRAYING for the family of this sweet Angel!
