Mary Lucinda Fields, born on Sunday, January 30, 1938, was the daughter of the late Catherine Curtis Santos and George Fields, Danville, Kentucky, and was raised by her late paternal grandparents, Josh and Lucy “Mama” Fields.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years , Oliver Gordon Wheat, in 2007 and daughter in law, Roberta L. Wheat (Frederick) in November 2021.

Lucinda confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, at Saint James African Methodist Episcopal Church. As a caregiver, she was employed by Golden Living Center and John Hill Bailey Children’s Place

The Wheat Family joined and worshipped at Second Street Christian Church, and later united with Christ The Head Missionary Church. In the past few years, Illness prevented her from venturing out and about as she would have liked.

Quite fashionable, she was always neatly and stylishly dressed. one seldom saw her without manicured polished nails as well.

Served as Assistant Secretary of The Bate High school Alumni Association and Memorial Committee.

She leaves to cherish her 83 year legacy, four Sons, Tyrone Oliver Wheat of Louisville, KY, Barry Weatherford Wheat (Stephannie) of Lexington, KY, Evan Stuart Wheat of Lexington, KY and Frederick Lee Wheat, Danville, KY; Special Sister, Edith Santos, San Francisco; CA; seven Grandchildren, Kenny Wheat, Shastavia Wheat, Shakeela Cloud, Sharan Wheat, Christopher Porter, Jeremiah Wheat and Amber Wheat; several great grandchildren; special cousins, Joe and Arthella Thompson, Danville, KY; host of other relatives and friends.

Please keep the family in your prayers.
