Mrs. Willie Bell Byers,72,Odenville, Passed away Sunday, August 29,2021.

The Obituary

Mrs. Willie Bell Byers was born on March 25, 1949, to the late Mr. Willie Charles Teague and the late Mrs. Henry Netter Teague. Sister Byers was baptized in the name of Jesus at Overcoming Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in the early 80’s. She worked faithfully as an Usher, Junior Missionary and Cook until the Lord called her home on August 29, 2021. Sister Byers grew up in the St. Clair Springs and Ashville, Alabama areas. She graduated in 1967 from Ashville Colored High School. She worked for National Cabinet and Sheffer Corp before deciding to return to school in her 50’s to study Child Development. She received her 26-hours Child Development Certification from Gadsden State Community College. In 1997, she became a Head Start employee for Community Action Partnership of North Alabama and later East Coast Migrant Head Start Project of the Chandler Mountain Center in Steele, Alabama. She was a dedicated employee who enjoyed her Chandler Mountain children, families and co-workers. Sister Byers was very devoted to her family. She was always encouraging and inspirational. She took care of Rolanda no matter what. Spoiling her grandchildren was one of her favorite things. She enjoyed cooking for her family, trying new recipes and collecting cookbooks. Family gatherings and trips were also one of her favorites. She always taught her family to put God first, be respectful whether you wanted to or not and to remember, Philippians 4:13. Preceding her in death was her husband, Richard Wayne Byers; parents, Willie Charles Teague and Henry Netter Teague; sister, Louise Teague; granddaughter, Raven Simone Byers and brother-in-law, Maroney Hill. Her precious memories will forever be cherished by her daughters, Tonya (Austin) Turner, Pamela (Anthony) Mitchell, Stephanie Byers and Rolanda Byers, All of Odenville, Al; grandchildren, Justin, Denerius, Jasmine, Joshua, Bradley, Isaiah, Amber, Desmond, Mariah, Jared, Jaylon, Danielle, Darion, Jasmine, April and Haley; great grandchildren, Serenity, Kennedy, Amaya and Zuri; sisters, Dorothy Hill, Nancy (Joe) Dickens and Edna (Jerry) Williams; brother, Henry (Rosa) Teague; special friends, Gwen Forman, Chandler Mountain Family, William Edwards, John Hardrick, Jr. and including the late Jeanice Mostella and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends

Burial at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, 19436 US-411, Springville, Al 35146. Bishop Charles Williams, Pastor. Elder Edward Lane, Officiating. Public Viewing and Visitation Tuesday, September 7, 2021 3 pm-7 pm at West Gadsden Funeral Home Chapel
