Mr. Venson Bernard Maddox, Sr., 55, of Columbus, GA passed Sunday, August 29, 2021 in Atlanta, GA.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. EST Friday, September 3, 2021 at Mt. Hill Baptist Church Hamilton, GA with Pastor Timothy Maddox, Pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery West Point, GA. Visitation is Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 12-5 p.m. EST.

Bernard was born July 16, 1966 to Arch and Gloria Maddox in Columbus, Georgia. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1984 and was a Heating and Air Serviceman by trade.

He leaves to treasure his memory a devoted wife, Meatra Maddox; caring parents, Pastor Arch and Mrs. Gloria Maddox; one adoring daughter, Shaundra (Marlo) Pough, three loving sons, Venson Jr., Vontavius and Walter, two cherished grandchildren, Noah and Marley ("Sugar Pie"); one loyal brother, Pastor Timothy (Cassandra) Maddox; one admiring sister, Arnethia (Pastor Lacoya D.) Day; four children by marriage, LaChondra, Semichelle ,LeShonn (Akeem) and Semichael; eight grandchildren by marriage, three sisters-in-law, Margaret (David) McCollwin, Jennifer Sanders and Jackie Patrick, one brother-in-law, Tyrone Browder; mother-in-law, Julia Henry, eight nieces, Theron (Jarvis), Aisha (Marcus) , Tionna (Mark), Brandi, Taliah, Toria, Alexis and Lanaia, four nephews, Corey, Brendon, Tim Jr. and Dylan along with a host of other relatives and friends.
