Sammie Lee Turner, Jr. departed this life on August 26, 2021 at Tri Star Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 60. He was born in Williamson County, Tennessee to the parents of Agnes Louise and Sammie Lee Turner.

Those left behind to cherish his many memories, his sons, Michael Thompson and Steve Thompson; daughter, Sarai Short-Turner; granddaughter, Janiya Thompson; father, Sammie Lee Turner, Sr.; sisters, Sheron (Jesse) Dotson and Shelia (Ron) Shepherd; brothers, S. Davis (Phyllis) Turner and Sherwood Turner; foster brother, Randall Shaw; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Mr. Turner will lie in state on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 12 until 5 at Waters Funeral Home.

Visitation with family Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 11 until 12 at Clayborne Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Trinity Road with funeral to follow. Reverend Jerry Brooks, officiating. Interment Clay Hill Cemetery, Chapel Hill, Tennessee.
