MS. CARRIE ELIZABETH BROWN, daughter of the late Matthew and Susie A. Brown was born March 26, 1949 in South Hill, VA and departed this life suddenly, August 27, 2021 in Envoy of Lawrenceville Rehabilitation Center, Lawrenceville, VA. She was also preceded in death by a brother- Edward L. Brown “Botchie”.

At an early age she was baptized and joined Hayes Grove Baptist Church. She attended the Mecklenburg County Public Schools.

Carrie was well known in the community. She was known to speak her mind; as her sister, Celestine often told her, “what comes up, comes out.” She always had a smile and a hello to everyone she met, whether she knew you or not.

Carrie leaves to mourn her loss her son- Elder Willie R. Macklin of Glen Allen, VA; a sister-in-law, Marie Brown of South Hill, VA and a host of cousins and friends.

We are asking everyone to please wear a mask due to the pandemic.
