Mrs. Idell Brown Bradley was born in the year of our Lord, December 5, 1934 to the late Deacon and Mrs. Charlie and Leah Jackson Brown in Tift County, Georgia. The family moved to Worth County when Idell was an infant. Idell was educated in the Worth County Public School System at that time and graduated from high school. Idell received Christ as her Savior at an early age, and joined the Oak Grove Baptist Curch under the leadership of Rev. Cook in 1946. She moved her membership to Hopewell Baptist Church to be with her parents. She worked dutifully in the church as a member of Usher Board, and later joined the Church Choir. She was also a member of the gospel singing group, The Star Lights. Later in life, Idell moved her membership to New Beulah Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Perry Simmons. At Beulah Grove, Idell served as a member of the Mission Board, president of the Church Choir, and as Mother of the Church. Idell was united in Holy Matrimony to the late George Bradley, Sr. on January 5, 1952. To this union nine children were born, six boys and three girls. Our Loved One heard the Master’s Call to come and take her rest on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Her parents, her husband, her children, Charlie Bradley, George Bradley, Jr., Idell Bradley Parker, a sister, Charlie Mae Brown, and a brother-in-law, Coley Bradley, have all preceded her in death.
Idell leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Ronnie Joe Bradley, Coley (Gerta) Bradley, Ray Anthony (Pamela) Bradley, Jeffery (Barbara) Bradley; her daughters, Dr. Sandra Bradley, Veronica “P.J.” Bradley; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Willie Belle Bradley, Irma Bradley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, sorrowing friends, and a church family she loved dearly.
