Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 4th, at the First Assembly of God in Nocona, TX, with Dr. Billy R. Moore officiating.
Burial will follow at Mountain Creek Cemetery near Saint Jo, TX.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 3rd, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
Bill was born December 29th, 1930 in Saint Jo, TX to Archie E. and Trobie Lawler. He worked as a professional driver most of his life. As a young man he drove a truck in the oilfield, and then worked for Greyhound Bus Co. for 30 years in California. After his retirement, Bill returned to Texas where he delivered propane for Thermagas Co. in Bowie, for an excess of 20 years. Bill attended the Montague County Cowboy Church for many years, and was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose, and served as Regional President in California.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Helen Lawler.
Bill is survived by his sister Margie Pickrell of Boyd, TX; brothers Therrell E. Lawler of Denton, TX and Jerrell W. Lawler of Haughton, LA; sons Billy J. Lawler and wife Karen of Nocona, TX and Joel W. Lawler and wife Leslie of Bowie; grandchildren William M. Lawler of Loomis, CA, Justin T. Lawler of Nocona, Perry Gower of Pioneer, CA and Chrisyon Lawler of Nocona; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family member and friends. Bill will be missed by all of them.
