Ja’Mond Ra’Shad Burney was born May 30, 1989 in Gaston County, North Carolina to Michael L. Burney and Toyota H. Lowery. He departed his earthly home on Friday; August 27, 2021.

Ja’Mond was educated in the Gaston County School System. He loved being with his sisters. He had a vibrant love for dogs and basketball. Ja’Mond will be missed by his family and friends.

Ja’Mond was preceded in death by his grandparents: Phyllis Bratton and Cleveland Holland; aunts: Essie Jean Holland and Ethel Burney; and uncles: Lynn T. Holland, Glenn Burney and Lester Burney.

Memories will forever be cherished by his mother: Toyota Lowery; father: Michael L. Burney (Jewell); sisters: Erica L. Johnson and Ciera Wilson; brother: Martavious Curry; grandparents: Barbara and Oris Johnson; aunts: Miranda Sims, Venda Rollinson (Steve), Torino Holland, Kathy Davis, Cora Hines, Geneva Burney, Teresa Burney and Leigh Johnson; uncles: Cleveland Wallace, Gerald Johnson, Sam Burney, and Charles Burney and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 6, 2021 from 2 until 6:00 p.m.
