Obituary For Mr. Deaureal Bell

In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mr. Deaureal Bell. Graveside services will be Thursday, September 9, 2021 11:00 am at Washington Memorial Garden 700 Jordan Lane Decatur GA 30033. Viewing will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021 12:00noon-6:00 pm at Grissom-Clark Eastlake Chapel. 404-373-3191.

Mr. Deaureal Bell was born June 18, 1937, in Social Circle, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Leemon and Maudie Bell. He was the youngest of 9 children, all of whom proceeded him in death. At the age of 22 he joined the United States Army and actively served and continued serving in the Army Reserve until 1963. After being honorably discharged from the service, he found employment at CINTAS Uniform Services, where he worked faithfully for 38 years. Deaureal met his wife, Vertis Bell, who proceeded him in death, in Atlanta, Georgia. From this union came four girls whom he loved dearly. Even though he was outnumbered and soft spoken, he had the gift of commanding the room exemplified by his iconic phrase, “All right now.” Deaureal’s love for his family grew progressively stronger with the birth of each grandchild. After he retired, he was as a devoted chauffeur, loyal playmate, and an example of perseverance. Deaureal loved to play golf; in fact, he was quite good which can be noted by all the accolades and trophies he received. Countless Saturday’s with the family were spent at the Candler Park Golf Course, and even after retirement he worked at East Lake Golf Course. On September 2, 2021, after battling several health issues, Deaureal took his last breath on this side. While our heart grieves the separation with his physical body, we find comfort in John 14:1 – 3. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. Deaureal was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his wife (Vertis Bell), and one of his grandchildren (Chandler Felton). He leaves to cherish his legacy four loving daughters: Mrs. Lybid Page (Tim), Mrs. Francis Johnson (Keithal), Mrs. Veronica Felton (Larry), and Mrs. Shannon Lucas (JuanAntonio), fourteen grandchildren: James Young III (Amber), Khalid Johnson, Demarcus Felton, Brianna Johnson, Antonio Lucas, Deborah Page, Amari Johnson, Arianna Johnson, Elijah Page, Sharese Lucas, Timothy Page, Jr., Denise Felton, Elizabeth Page, and Zachary Felton, and 2 great grandchildren: Mordarkye Young and Merickah Young. He also leaves to cherish his memory a special niece, Pamela Harris, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
