Obituary For Randy Griggs

Mr. Randy Lewis Griggs departed his life on Thursday; September 2, 2021. He was born March 6, 1957 in Gaston County; son of th elate Elbert and Alline Borders Griggs. He was the youngest of fourteen children.

Randy was a graduate of Cherryville Senior High School and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys play, ride horses, play softball and he enjoyed attending his granddaughter’s softball games.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Miles Elbert Griggs and Charles James Griggs; two sisters: Lolita Griggs Cline and Carolyn Griggs Hopper.

Randy leaves to cherish fond memories to his children: Chante Griggs (Christian), Darnell Griggs Williams (Rachad) of Cherryville, NC; four grandchildren: Zaria Griggs of Cherryville, NC, Germiah Casimir, Gerald Casimir and Geraldo Casimir all of Orlando, Florida; three sisters: Willie Mae Patterson of Cherryville, North Carolina, Crryline Merritt and Elizabeth Wilson of Hickory, NC; two brothers: Austin Griggs of Shelby, NC and William “Hugh” Griggs; special nieces: Brenda Brown and Willie Jean McCluney; sisters-in-law: Gerilyn Griggs, Emma L. Griggs, Odessa Griggs, and Lois Griggs and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday; September 8, 2021 from 5 until 8

Funeral: Thursday; September 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.; First Baptist Church, Cherryville

Visitation: thirty minutes before the service at the church
