Obituary For Carrie Lipscomb

Carrie Knox Lipscomb was born on July 30, 1945 and she transitioned on September 2, 2021. She was born in Washington, DC but she’s been a native of Gaston County for over seventy years.

Mrs. Lipscomb was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge AME Zion Church where she served as a member of the choir. She was a mother, sister, and friend to many. She served many years in the textile industry and later retired from Burlington Industries. She was a very known for her sewing craft. She continued to pursue her education at Gaston College.

She was preceded in death by her husband: AC Lipscomb; her parents: Willie Mae Williams and George Williams; her grandsons: Osavio Lipscomb and Donald Rae Mackins, Jr., and granddaughters: Kalya and Debbie Lipscomb.

Carrie leaves precious memories to her five children: Suzanne Lipscomb, Evelyn Duff, Anna Lipscomb, Teretha Lipscomb and Alma Usery (James); five siblings: Shirley Darby, Peggy McDaniels (Roger), Mary Burris, Bettie Berry and Frances Williams; fourteen grandchildren: Debbie Lipscomb, Roderick Lipscomb, Ronard Mackins, Derrick Duff, Danyell McElhaney, LaToya Boyce (Carlos), Christina McCoy, Dominique McCoy, Ebonique Lipscomb, Jasmine Lipscomb, Diamond Barnes (Kynell), Serenity Lipscomb, Alpha Lipscomb, James Usery, Jr. and Carol Usery; twenty-three great grandchildren; one great great grand and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing at the funeral home on Sunday; September 12, 2021 from 5:30 until 8:00

Funeral: Monday; September 13, 2021; 2:00 p.m.; Pleasant Ridge AME Zion Church, Gastonia

Visitation: thirty minutes before the service at the church

Interment: Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia

Masks required at all services; funeral will be live on Gregory Funeral Service Facebook page beginning at 2:00
