Obituary For Mattie Lee Wilkins

Mattie Lee Wilkins of Polk County, NC was born on May 16, 1945. She departed for eternity on September 1, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She graduated from Carver High School in 1964. Mattie was a member at Wheat Creek Baptist Church in Polk County, NC. She was a dedicated member throughout her years at Wheat Creek. Mattie was known throughout Rutherford and Polk County through her work at Stonecutter, Wheating and Tubing, and Fast Food which is where she retired. She was a very caring and hardworking person. She loved her family dearly, and showed it through countless acts. Mattie was preceded in death by her mother Pearl Miller, her father Leon Twitty, her grandparents Walter (Alice) Miller, and her daughter-in-law Angela Wilkins. Mattie leaves behind fond memories in the hearts of her three sons Bobby Wilkins, Rutherfordton, NC, James Wilkins, Polk County, NC, and Ray Wilkins, Polk County NC; one uncle Joe Miller, Polk County, NC, two brothers, Taft Miller, Forest City, NC, Mike Logan, Inman, SC, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, relatives and friends.
