Obituary For William Powe

Mr. William Albert Powe, 88, died Wednesday, September 1, 2021, in Jesup, Georgia. He was born May 27, 1933, in Lancaster County South Carolina. He was the son of the late LaCoste and Bessie Fleming Powe. He was married to the late Clara Thrower Powe.

Mr. Powe was a member of Pleasant Hill AME Zion Church. Mr. Powe retired from Joslyn Clark Controls. After retiring from JCC, he opened an auto tire repair business in Heath Springs.

Left to cherish his memories, three sons, Tyrone Powe (Peggy), William Wright and Don Powe; one daughter, Clara Darlene Staton (Joshua, deceased); one sister, Elva Purefoy and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Pleasant Hill A.M.E. Zion Church. Funeral Service will be conducted by Presiding Elder Rev. Dr. Robert E. Christian and Reverend Vavalon Robertson.

Viewing will be 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Stewart Funeral Home.
