Obituary For Kevin Lamar Garrett

Graveside service for Mr. Kevin Lamar Garrett of Sylacauga, 44, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021, at St. Campbell Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the funeral home.

Mr. Kevin Lamar Garrett was born on July 27, 1977, to the union of M. D. Garrett and Alice Garrett in Talladega, Alabama.

Mr. Garrett united with St. Campbell Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was a graduate of Talladega County Central High School. Professionally, Kevin was a forklift operator with Heritage Freight. Kevin was a hard worker that enjoyed collecting and working on cars, spending time with his kids and watching Alabama football. After over 20 years together, on October 28, 2020, Kevin made things official and took the hand of Dana Michelle Carden in holy matrimony.

Mr. Garrett began his eternal journey on the evening of September 8, 2021, at Coosa Valley Medical Center. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents.

Kevin’s memory will live on in the heart of his wife, Dana M. Garrett of Sylacauga, Alabama; his parents, M. D. Garrett of Akron, Ohio and Alice (Shane) Edmonds of Foster, Kentucky; two daughters, Ta’Kyia Carden and Kevianna (Nick) Garrett of Sylacauga, Alabama; three sons, Tymous Carden and Kevin Garrett, Jr. of Sylacauga, Alabama and Octavian Kidd of Talladega, Alabama; five grandchildren; four brothers, Marcel Garrett, Jontavous Mann and Detrick (Jamie) Garrett of Cincinnati, Ohio and Shane “Tiger” Edmonds of Missouri; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
