Obituary For Mattie Purl Dunn

Mattie Purl Dunn, 63, of Eatonton Georgia, transitioned to eternal rest Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Mattie Purl A. Dunn passed away peacefully at home on the early morning of September 9, 2021. She was surrounded by her family and friends. Mattie was born December 22, 1957 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie (Arlene) Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Dunn, Jr.; one brother, Willie James Adams; one sister, Mary Mathis Wesley; and stepdaughter, Tracie Mullins.

Mattie received her formal education from the Putnam County Public School System and graduated in the class of 1976. She was employed with Eatonton Manufacturing and retired from Georgia Pacific in 2011. After retirement, Mattie worked at Popeyes. Her favorite hobbies were cooking, fishing, going to church and spending time with family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Emanuel Reeves, Sr.; 11 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emanuel, Jr., Eshanti, JaCoby, E'Branden, E'Brandilyn, Emhad, Calab, Johnathan, Calvin, and Geno; 4 great-grandchildren, Elijah, Emerie, Makarri, and Noah; 2 stepdaughters, Gracie and Tammy; 2 stepsons, Patrick and Dexter; Mother-in-law, Mrs. Elzora Levester Dunn; 2 sisters, Louise Mathis and Peggy Farley; 4 brothers, Arthur (Gladys) Adams, Nathaniel (Joyce) Adams, Moses Adams, and Eugene Mathis; 8 sisters-in-law; 4 brothers-in-law; a devoted friend, Valencia Webb; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be held from 12PM-2PM, Sunday, September 21, 2021. At Bernard's Eatonton Chapel

A graveside service will be held Monday, September 13, 20021 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 574 Mt. Gilead Church Road, Eatonton, GA, Rev. Lewis Parham, Pastor, Officiating.
