"Praise God From Whom All Blessongs Flow!" The Department of Christian Education of the Eleventh Episcopal District joins me in thanking God for the life of our beloved sister, Sister Alva Osburne. She was a committed, loyal and dedicated soldier of the cross. The hymnologist says it best " Servant of God Well done! Rest from thy love employ; The battle is fought, the victory won, Enter thy Master's joy. We will miss her smiling face and hands on spirit. We light this red candle in her memory. We love you Alva. With deepest sympathy....The Reverend James C Givens, Episcopal Director CED

You have my sympathy on the passing of a hard worker for the Lord. Alva and my mother worked together very closely with the DMC for the 11th District. She made the Tampa District proud as she encouraged young people to present themselves in the sacred ceremony. She was one of the few people who did DMC, WMS and Lay working tirelessly for each component. Alva did her work for the Kingdom while she could. What a glorious example for all of us! On behalf of Mrs. Queen Bowers Brown and the DMC of 1992 - 2001, you have my condolences and prayers. I will miss her sweet smile. Sending love to your entire family. Mrs. Harriet Brown Birk, Esquire - Orlando, Former DMC Ceremony Director
