Obituary For Gaye Nelle Dawson

Gaye Nelle Dawson, 83 of Bowie, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 9th, 2021 in Decatur, TX.

Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, with Dr. Tony Rogers officiating.

Burial will follow at Brushy Cemetery in Bowie.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.

Gaye was born January 22, 1938 in Whitesboro, TX to Robert and Emma (Russom) Young. She was married to the late Franklin W. Dawson, for 51 years. Gaye spent her days and a homemaker, and always had a strong Christian faith. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and arts and crafts, and was an avid reader. Gaye will be remembered with love and appreciation for the devotion to her family as a mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband Franklin Dawson.

Gaye is survived by her daughter Catherine Morgan; son Duane Dawson; grandchildren Jerry Jones and wife Ashley of Okemah, OK, Travis Jones and wife Angie of Bowie, Caitlin DeBord and husband Ty of Henrietta, TX, Alex Degler and husband Austin of Bowie, and Kahley Garner and husband Matt of Gainesville, TX; great-grandchildren Allison Jones, Emilia DeBord, Oliver, Henry, Rosie, Norah Degler, Dillon Hutchinson, and Zayne Garner; and so many life long friends.
