Evelyn Ann Montgomery, was born the fourth of eight children to the late Caroline Montgomery, Sr. and Annie Bell Ferguson Montgomery. She was called from labor to reward on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 9:10 PM at Palmetto Richland Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina after a short illness. Ann was a graduate of C.E. Murray High School Class of 1977 and Williamsburg Technical College, Kingstree, South Carolina. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member and served on the Women In Red Committee. She was always willing to assist with various organizations when needed. Ann, as she was affectionately called, worked at several industrial plants. She was quiet but very observant. Everyone that knew her loved her humble spirit. Reading, sports (Redskins) and entertainment was her favorite past time. She loved her family, friends and community. She had a heart of gold. She kept her pepper mints, butterscotch and other candies for her family and friends. Every conversation ended with “I Love You”. She leaves to cherish her memories, three sisters, Geraldine (Richard) Scott, Kingstree, SC, Frankie (Reverend Dr. Phil) Flowers, Columbia, SC and Cynthia Montgomery, St. Stephens, SC; four brothers: Robert L. Ferguson, Caroline Montgomery, Jr. and Charles (Jennifer) Montgomery all of Columbia, SC and Ronnie L. (Sonji) Ferguson, Atlanta. GA; friends she took as a brother and sister, Marvin Shaw, Greeleyville, SC and Cassie (Franklin) Wright, Summerton, SC; cousin and friend took as sisters, Bernice (Leroy) Segars, and Margie (Henry) Johnson both of Kingstree, SC; godson, Kevonteʹ Hamilton, Columbia, SC; four aunts, Robersena Ferguson and Sarah Washington both of Kingstree, SC, Annie Mae Ferguson Burgess, Kingstree, SC, Betty Lou Ferguson, Florence, SC and Mariah Blanding, Columbia, SC; two uncles, Frank (Betty Lou) Ferguson, Kingstree, SC and Charles Camden, Durham, NC; host of special cousins that grew up like siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, great grand nieces, great grand nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Montgomery were held 10:00 AM Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Churchyard, 4676 S. Williamsburg County Hwy., Salters, SC. Rev. David Woods, Jr. Pastor officiated; Minister Sharon Johnson and Rev. Dr. Phil Flowers, assisted. Burial will follow in the St. James Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1288 Coleman Rd., Greeleyville, SC.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, the family is not receiving friends.
