MS. JACQUELINE HOLMES, daughter of the late George Washington Holmes and Lena Mae Hutcherson Holmes, was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on January 6, 1968 and entered into eternal rest on September 7, 2021 in VCU-MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA. She was also preceded in death by a brother, sister, and a niece.

At an early age she was baptized and joined North View Baptist Church where she attended Sunday school with her family.

Jacqueline was a 1986 graduate of Park View Senior High School. She later attended Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA where she received her Bachelor in Political Science and Bachelor in Criminal Justice. She also received her Master of Business Administration from Strayer University, Midlothian, VA. She was employed by VCU and later Ensemble Health Partners for many years until her health began to decline.

Jacqueline loved serving the Lord, singing, studying the bible and conducting bible study. She loved witnessing to lost souls about Jesus! That was her purpose and destiny working in the kingdom of God.

Jacqueline also had a gift of writing. She published one book entitled “Knee Prayers.” She shared credit with our sister in Christ, Mrs. Mona Rainey, who helped made it possible.

Jacqueline was caring, strong-willed, loving, dependable, truthful and smart. She will be greatly missed. Jacqueline leaves to mourn three sisters- Shelia (Willie) Green, North Chesterfield, VA; JoAnn Holmes, Richmond, VA and Palmira Alicia (Lester, Jr.) Fowlkes, North Chesterfield, VA; nephews and niece- Jemar, Jerel, and Cornelius Holmes and Alysha Taylor; three uncles- Freddie (Glory) Holmes; Arthur Holmes, and Clarence (Emma) Holmes; one aunt- Marie Holmes; devoted best friends- Hyacinth Pennycooke and Charles E. Johnson, Sr., and a host of cousins and other friends.
