Sheneke Teyara Green, daughter of Essie Miller Green and the late Elijah Green was born January 17, 1984 in Clarendon County. She was preceded in death by a sister, Angie Arnell Green, maternal grandparents, Jarrett and Hester Miller, paternal grandmothers, Lillie Mae Green and Verlean “Martha” Doughty, adoptive grandparents, Son and Thelma Green and an aunt she took as her grandmother, Evangelist Sarah Miller. She was reared in the Davis Station community of Clarendon County and attended the public schools of Summerton, South Carolina. A 2002 graduate of Schott’s Branch High School, she furthered her education at Central Carolina Technical College and graduated from Centura College and Kenneth Shuler’s School of Cosmetology, completing her State Board in Cosmetology. “Moochie”, as she was affectionately called, was a spunky, outgoing, tenacious little child who left her mark everywhere she went. She was the apple of her father’s eye. Small in stature, yet she was a giant in class and fashion. It didn’t matter if she wore a work uniform, Sheneke knew how to put together an ensemble. Along with a keen fashion sense, “Moochie” had an amazing heart for giving. She constantly showered her family and friends with gifts because it made her heart smile to see others smile. That giving spirit also was evident in her talents and gifts. She was an accomplished musician and talented singer and she exercised those gifts as a member of Laurel Hill AME’s YAM Choir and The Miller Family gospel group in which she often sang lead as a child. Her spirit filled, power packed voice often left others amazed that all of that came from such a small package. She gave her all when she sang, an expression to God that he was more than anything to her! Sheneke shared a special bond with her mother, deeper than most mother-daughter bonds. These two were inseparable. She kept Mama slayed with the latest fashion and hairstyles and would often tell her brothers, “there’s nothing too good for my Mama”. Having no biological children of her own, Sheneke embraced all of her nieces and nephews as her own, even goddaughters and godsons all had their own special place in Sheneke’s life. On Sunday, September 12, 2021, Sheneke Teyara Green, gained her wings and departed this earthly life at Regency Hospital of Florence, Florence, South Carolina. She will be missed by many but leaves to cherish her memory, mother, Essie Green of the home; three brothers: Joe (Marie) Miller, Summerton, SC, James (Yvette) Green and Antonio (Crystal) Green both of Manning, SC; and a dear baby sister, Vanessa Green of Texas; nephews and nieces, Denzel (Chasity) Green, Mahogany Green, Sarah Jackson, Veronica Jackson, Shakesha Jackson, Joe (JJ) Jackson, Iyahna Green, Xavier Evans, Tyler Green, Essence (tank-tank) Green, Jackie Pugh and Madison Bethea; grand nieces and nephews, Kiersten Green, Ashton (AJ) Green and Avery Green, Reginald Moorer, Jaheim Jackson, JoʹQuella Jackson, Kinsley Jackson, Ariel Pugh; godson, JaQuez Hill; goddaughters, Kʹmiah Lee, Ayanna Junious; host of other uncles, aunts, cousins, neighbors and friends.
