Mrs. Dorothy Jean Kirby Harrington was born in Anson County, NC on May 26, 1958, to the late James “JT” and Winnie Kirby. She was called to her forever home in the early hours of Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the Brian Center-Cabarrus, Concord, NC.

Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age and stood on that unwavering faith until the end. She was educated in Anson County Public School System and graduated from Anson Senior High School in 1976. Dorothy lived a full life and dedicated much of that life to caring for others, especially children, working as a school bus driver and child daycare assistant for many years.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Harrington, and two sisters, Brenda Spencer (Paul) and Thomasina Smith (John).

Left to cherish her sweet, beautiful memories are her two sons, Timothy Ellerby (Nicole) of Concord, NC and Corey Harrington of the home; three grandchildren, Kaylee, Reece & Sarayah; two sisters, Elizabeth Hough (Leroy) of Wadesboro, NC and Barbara Spencer of Morven, NC; two brothers, James Kirby (Debra) of Lilesville, NC and LeVander Kirby of Lilesville, NC; a very special aunt, Emma Ruth Caple of Lilesville, NC; mother-in-law, Wincy Harrington of Wadesboro, NC; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Homegoing Services were held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, 4:00pm in the Chapel of Smith's Funeral Home, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment followed in Morning Star Redeem Church of God Cemetery, Lilesville, North Carolina.
