Obituary For Mr. Peter Harris

Van Hoose & Steele Funeral Home, Inc. announces with deepest sympathy the transition of Mr. Peter Harris, who was born in Greene County, Alabama on 30 July 1949, to parents Terrell and Unareed Harris. Mr. Harris passed away in Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday evening, 10 September 2021, from complications from Alzheimer’s. He was 72 years old. Mr. Harris grew up on the West Side of Tuscaloosa on Fosters Ferry Road and was a 1967 graduate of Druid High School. He attended Stillman College, where he received a degree in Mathematics. His first job took him to Huntsville, Alabama, after which he held a series of jobs out of the country, including in Kuwait, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. He resided in Kansas briefly after his return to the States before he settled in Phoenix, where he received an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He and Kim, his wife of 42 years, have two sons, Peter Philibert and Jason. He was preceded in death by his two oldest sisters, Fannie Mae Chambers (Houston) and Hazel Gray Moore Dunn (John), and a brother, Husain Abdul Alim (born Willie Frank Harris). He leaves to mourn four siblings: Mrs. Eva Harris Owens (Walter), Elder Dr. Terrell Harris, Jr. (Dr. Hattie Pearl Harris), Dr. Trudier Harris, Ms. Anna Harris McCarthy, and Deacon Eddie Lee Harris (Sherry).
