Obituary For Mr. Larry Facen

In the afternoon hours of Saturday, September 11, 2021, Larry Facen, surrounded by his family and loved ones, was called home to Glory.

Larry was born December 7, 1953 in Colquitt, GA, to his parents Clara Nell Grimsley and Leroy Facen. At an early age, Larry inherited his second father, Willis Grimsley whom he loved and cherished dearly. Larry spent his early years in Colquitt prior to his family relocating to Tallahassee, FL, when he was nine years old. Larry graduated from Rickards High School in 1971, then went on to attend Florida A&M University where he graduated with his Masters Degree. He maintained a successful career as an Automotive Consultant for over 30 years and continued to be an avid entrepreneur long after his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Clara Nell Grimsley, father, Leroy Facen Sr., sisters, Deidre Grimsley, Mary Gayle Grimsley, Sherry Ann Burr, and brothers, Stanley Grimsley, Donald Grimsley, and Leroy Facen, Jr.

Larry leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Robin Facen, his three children, Michael Facen (Edilma), Ashley Facen (Nemiah), Quentin Facen; his two grandsons, Nicholas Facen and Kayden Overstreet; his father Willis Grimsley, his brothers, Charles Facen, Howard Facen, Anthony Facen, LaVore Facen, Jacarie Facen; his sisters, Yolando Westberry, Betty Facen, Alberta Facen Veney, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many special friends.

The Celebration of Life will be be 1 PM, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church, 840 West Dunn Street, Tallahassee, FL. Viewing will be Friday, September 17, 2021 from 12 Noon - 6 PM at Strong & Jones Funeral Home and Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the church.

My God grant you and your family comfort & peace during this difficult time! The Maddox Family will keep you all in our prayers. Mr. Facen was such a kind man and always helped us/the girls with anything we/they needed at our home near FAMU. He will be missed greatly. I'm very thankful God allowed our paths to cross six years ago as they did.
