Obituary For Lonnie "Buck" Carson

Lonnie Carson, 66, was affectionately known as “Buck” to family and friends, died on September 9, 2021 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, FL.

He was born on October 2, 1955 in Douglas, GA to parents Lonnie Carson, Sr. and Ruby Lee Carson.

He was a resident of Fort Pierce for over 50 years coming from Douglas, GA. During this time he met and married Georgia Ann Griffith and during this union they bore 7 children. Years later he and his wife Virginia bore 1 son. He was a laborer in the agricultural industry for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a lover of old classic TV shows, movies and music. He was very handy always repairing whatever he could get his hands on. He loved to ride his bicycle. He always talked about his love for his family. He was along with his wife Virginia members of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of Deliverance; under the leadership of Pastor Andrew and Co-Pastor Sharon Brown, Fort Pierce, FL.

Mr. Carson was preceded in death by his father: Lonnie Carson, Sr., mother: Ruby Lee Carson, sisters: Martha Ann Shaw, Vernell Carson and niece: Jennifer Carson Davis.

Survivors include: wife: Virginia Carson of Fort Pierce, FL.

Sons: Timothy Griffith of Fort Pierce, Lonnie Carson of Fort Pierce, FL, Robert (Nickaria) Carson of Ocala, FL, Zachary Carson of Fort Pierce, FL and Hector Anglero of Fort Pierce, FL.

Daughters: Kathy (John) Cooper of Fort Pierce, FL, Georgia Ann Carson of Fort Pierce, FL, Melissa Carson of Fort Pierce, FL, Antion Carson of Fort Pierce, FL and Juliana (Ronald) King of Fort Pierce, FL.

Brothers: Jimmy (Sharon) Carson of Tampa, FL, Benny (Hazel) Carson of Vero Beach, FL, Larry (Cari) Carson of Vero Beach, Brother-in-law: Frank Ghent of Winterhaven, FL

Sisters: Gloria (Billy) Booth of Fort Pierce, FL, and April (Vincent) Carson of Vero Beach, FL.

Grandchildren – 36 Great Grandchildren- 5

Public visitation for Lonnie Carson will take place on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services will convene on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Liberty, Truth, and Deliverance Tabernacle of God in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID-19 have been relaxed, we at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff. Lonnie will always be remembered... He had an amazing sense of humor and kept us laughing! And talk about a man who believed in cleaning... If you didn't smell bleach or Lysol, it wasn't clean! God loved you best Lonnie. Sending love to my Aunt(his wife) Virginia Carson and the rest of the family. May God heal your hearts during this most hurtful time and bring you all peace and comfort.
