Obituary For James Strong

The Obituary- On September 15,2021, James Alford Strong, departed this life at Riverview Medical Hospital in Gadsden, Alabama at the age of 71. James was born on February 17,1950, to the loving union of the late Adolphus and Ruby Lauderdale in Goodwater, AL. He graduated from J.D. Thompson High School, Class of 1970. He enlisted in the United State Army shortly after high school. He proudly served 4 years. Shortly following his military service, he moved to Gadsden, Al. James enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and helping whomever he could. He also enjoyed any type of carpenter work. He enjoyed telling jokes, and he never met a stranger. In addition to being preceded in death by his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, and one sister. James leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Lillie Strong of Gadsden, AL; his son James (Jameka) Littlefield of Gadsden, AL; In addition to four daughters and four sons, Detroit, Mich; his grandchildren Braylon, Maycee, Rha’Kiya, Makynlee, and Maddison. In addition to twenty-three grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren; four brothers Billy Ray (Karen)Strong, Goodwater, AL, Rev. Michael (Arvetta)Strong, Goodwater, AL, Kenny (Jackie)Strong, Alexander City, AL, and Timothy (Miranda) Strong, Goodwater, AL; four sisters, Daphene Coleman, Alexander, City, AL, Myrene Strong, Birmingham, AL, Cheryl (Frank) Tuck, Madison, AL, and Roslyn (Willie) Leonard, Columbia, S.C. Also leaves behinds a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr.James Alford Strong, Public viewing 12 noon-6pm Sunday, September 19,2021 at West Gadsden Chapel. Funeral Services 1 p.m. Monday, September 20,2021 Fellowship Baptist Church, Pastor Scottie Rice, officiating burial Lincoln Hill Memorial Park.
