Obituary For Apostle John Lucius Sweet

John Lucius Sweet was born on October 19, 1961 to James William Sweet Sr. and Emma Lee Sweet in St. Augustine, Florida. He attended St. Johns County public school and graduated from St. Augustine High School class of 1979. Subsequently, he served his country in the United States Army and later in the Army Reserve. On June 3, 2012, John and Mildred Colay Sweet sealed their promise in holy matrimony in Palatka, Florida. He answered God’s calling to the pastoral ministry, and pastored at New Jerusalem BrideGroom Ministries for 12 years. He was passionate about teaching the word of God and bringing people closer to Christ.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Sweet; brothers, James Sweet, Willie Jean Sweet, John Earnest Sweet, Alfred Jerome Sweet and Larry Eugene Sweet.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Mildred Colay Sweet; daughter, Janeika Sweet; son, Raheem Sweet; brothers, Isaiah “Boe”(Wanita) Sweet of Las Vegas, NV, Eric (Cindy) Sweet of West Palm Beach, FL, Derick Sweet of Savannah, GA, Arnett (Joyce) Sweet of Palatka, FL, John Rahiem Sweet of Beaufort, SC, Harry Sweet of Tampa, FL; sisters, Linda Hope and Joyce Reese both of St. Augustine, FL; 4 grandchildren; and a host of stepchildren, nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends.

The Sweet family will receive the community from 5:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Felix Coleman's Memorial Chapel 139 N. Main St. Hastings, Florida 32145.

The Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Lord's Temple City of Refuge 140 Gilmore St. Hastings, Florida 32145 - Bishop Thomas Cave III, Pastor.

Interment - Jacksonville National Cemetery - Tuesday, October 12, 2021
