Ms. Whisby was born in Macon to the late Willie and Margaret Cook Whisby.

She attended school in Bibb County and graduated from Peter G. Appling High School. She worked as a cook for Central State Prison until her retirement.

Survivors include: sons; Kenneth (Katara) Whisby and Roderick Whisby; siblings; Constance Graham, Willie Bell Nichols, Margaret Billue and Jacqueline Brown; seven grandchildren, others relatives and friends.
