Jessie Lee 'Bess was born on June 21,1948, to the late Horace Bess, Sr. and the late Millie Bess. On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, "Jeffie" as she was affectionately known by all her family and friends departed this earthly realm. She passed away in the comfort of her own home very quiet and peaceful. ''Jeffie'' made JESUS her choice at a very young age in the care of New Springfield Baptist Church.

''Jeffie'' was educated through the Greene County School System where she was a member of the Class of 1966 at Floyd Thomas High School. During her tenure at Floyd Thomas, she was a majorette in the Tiger Marching Band. She adored listening to music, but dancing was her passion.

After graduating, ''Jeffie'' moved. to Atlanta, Ga, She worked for Ford Motor Company for thirty plus years. She was a very dedicated employee. ''Jeffie'' had four siblings to precede her in death: Carrie Bess Brown, Laura Bess, Corry Bess and Viola Bess.

Jessie 'Jeffie'' Lee 'Bess leaves to cherish her memories are her two loving children: Clayton A. (Valera) Bess ana Laticia D. (Edmond) Hudson; Eight grandchildren who were the apples of her eyes: Jarod Bess, Jakoby Bess, Xavier Bess, DeMarcus Bess, Jazmine Bess, Quintavius Hudson, Jonte' Hudson. and James Hudson; Two sisters: Clara M. (Mayor) Lumpkin and Sarah Bess. Two brothers: Horace (Janice) Bess, Jr. and Harold (Angela) Bess; A host of nieces and nephews whom she loved, adored, and treated each of them as though they were hers. A host of cousins and friends who will treasure her life as well.
