Obituary For Rosia Mary Evans

Rosia (Latiker) Evans was born on April 19th, 1963 to the late Arista Thurman Sr. and Maggie Dee Latiker in Goodman, MS. She was later moved to Sallis, MS where she was raised with her 10 siblings. Rosia was called home on September 18, 2021, at the age of 58. On her journey home, her grandchildren Leah and Janae Andrews and her brothers Leroy Latiker and Willie Latiker proceeded her in death.

Rosia attended McAdams High School in Sallis, MS and later moved to Chicago, IL in 1984 where she raised her beautiful children and grandchildren. She started working for Maier Hofer Bus Company as well as completed beauty school in the 1980's. Rosia later took a position at Chicago Transit Authority where she work various positions for the past 26 years. The Chicago Transit Authority was quoted saying, "She was a very hard worker." Her family also knows this to be true. Rosia dedicated her life to family and her work.

Rosia accepted Christ at an early age where she was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and later joined Beautiful Zion Baptist Church in Chicago, IL. Rosia was a faithful member of the youth ministry choir and served on the Pastor's Aid Board. Rosia continued to walk in her Christian faith throughout her life. She also enjoyed dancing (better known as shaking her whole body), traveling, cooking, and going to the casino in her leisure time.

Rosia leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters, Cassandra and Sherry of Chicago, IL; one son, Eric of Cedar Rapids, IA; Fifteen grandchildren; five sisters: Maggie (Ernest), Chicago, IL, Bobbie and Lavon both of Durant, MS, Ruth (Felix) and Josie (Marshall) of Sallis, MS; Three brothers, James (Leslie), Durant, MS, Charles (Leslie), Chicago, IL, and Martin, Sallis, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

INTERMENT: Roby Cemetery, Goodman, MS
