Obituary For Bennie Joyce Ames

Bennie Joyce Ames, 70 of Bowie, TX, passed away Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 in Carrollton, TX.

Family has chosen arrangements with cremation, arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie, TX.

Bennie was born May 5, 1951 in McKinney, TX to W.D. and Ima Jean (Starkey) Duckworth. On September 21st, 2002, Bennie married Mike Ames in Flower Mound, TX. She worked for many years as an executive administrator. Bennie was a country girl at heart, who loved to shoot guns and play the guitar. She was a member of the Red Rock Four Wheel Drive Club in Moab, UT. Bennie was known as “Mimi” to her family and loved them dearly. She enjoyed baking pies and working in the garden and weed eating her property.

Bennie is survived by her husband Mike Ames of Bowie; children Babe Noel and husband Jon of Copper Canyon, TX, Chris Keith and wife Ashley of Granbury, TX, Andrea Yates and husband Richard of Flower Mound, and Allison Hargroves and husband Eric of Maple Valley, WA; grandchildren Riley, Parker, Wyatt, Willa, Wren, Walton, Cole, Lilly, Mason and Regan; sisters Phoebe Watts of College Station, Peggy Kemp of Denton, TX, Terri Riggs of East Camden, AR, Lana Bird of East Camden, AR, and Vickey Downey of Smackover, AR; nephew Byron Soules and wife Joanna of College Station, TX; and great-nephews John, Jacob and Jordan.
