Obituary For Mr. Calvin D. Hill

In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Calvin D. Hill. Celebration of Life will be Friday, October 1, 2021 1:00 pm at Grissom-Clark Eastlake Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Viewing will be Thursday, September 30, 2021 12noon-6:00pm at Grissom-Clark Funeral Home.Calvin Damonte Hill was born in Blackshear, Georgia on January 13, 1973 to the parents of David Hill, Sr, and Carolyn Smiley Hill.

Calvin parents brought him to Decatur, Georgia at the age of five where he attended Hooper Alexander Elementary. After graduation Hooper Alexander he attended Columbia High School.

He worked at the Omni in downtown Atlanta and also at Wendy’s before becoming disable to work. Calvin was a fun and loving person and enjoyed cooking and being with family. On Friday September 24, 2021 Calvin made his transition into the arms of his savior. He is preceded in death by his father David Hill, Sr., his brother David Hill, Jr., and his brother Christopher Hill. Calvin leaves to cherish his memories his mother Carolyn Hill, his brother Marcus Gray, two nephews Corey Hill and Emmanuel, one niece Dream Hill. Three great nephews Jeremy Hill, Cameren Hill and Corey Hill, Jr and one great niece Samiya Hill; 5 aunties Edith Jackson (Florida), Elizabeth White (New York), Hattie White (New York), Eloise Wesley (Blackshear) and Alberta Graham (August). 5 uncles Ira Brown (South Carolina), William Whitley (New York), Paul Hill (Blackshear), Ronnie Hill (Blackshear), Billy George Hill and a host cousins and friends. Don’t cry for me, I’m not gone my soul is at rest, my heart lives on, light a candle for me to see, and hold on to my memory, but save your tears for I’m still here by your side through the years.
