Obituary For SSG (Ret.) Ollie Tidwell

SSG (Ret.) Ollie Tidwell, 89, of Elizabethtown, KY died at his residence on September 25, 2021.

Mr. Tidwell was a native of Pine Bluff, AR and the son of the late Louis & Leotha Tidwell. He was a member of the Embry Chapel AME where he served as a Trustee and Steward. Mr. Tidwell served his country in the US Army and during the Vietnam and Korean conflicts. He was also a member of the DAV, VFW and American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil M. L.G. and Henry Tidwell and four sisters, Georgia M. Woods, Betty Byard, Ruthie Hill and Ora B. Royster.

Survivors include his wife, Tara T. Lewis-Tidwell of Elizabethtown, KY; one daughter Tanya Tidwell-Walker (Lawrence) of North Chesterfield, VA; two brothers, Fred Tidwell (Jerri), and Mackie Tidwell; two sisters, Essie V. Jenkins and M. Louise Randall (Jon); three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Embry Chapel AME Church.
