So very saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Mitchell. I had the privilege and pleasure of getting to know her when I began my teaching career at Sweetwater Middle School. Dr. Mitchell was always kind to me, and shared many humorous stories as well as words of wisdom, encouragement, and advice. I also still have, to this day, a memento Dr. Mitchell brought back from South Africa and gave to me. I will never forget how kind, welcoming, and wonderful Dr. Mitchell was to me. Her legacy will continue to lift all of us to new heights. Rest in peace, friend. Love, Michael Cress

To Clarence and the Mitchell family: Sometimes life throws you a curve that you are totally unexpecting or prepared to experience. Such is the case with Beryl's passing. We never know what tomorrow has planned for us, for there is no guarantee that it will come. But, God had a plan for her that no one but Him was aware. We will miss her today, next month, and next year but we will always have those sweet memories that are as close as closing your eyes and remembering......... She accomplished so much for herself, but she was more proud of her family; for Clarence, their sons, and those precious grandchildren! Her eyes would light up when she had a story (or several) to tell about them! May God hold you all tightly in His loving arms and bring you comfort and peace during this time of mourning and loss. We will all miss her dearly. Norris and Andrea Garmon "My life is but a weaving, between my God and me; I do not chose the colors, He worketh steadily. Oft times He weaveth sorrow, and I in foolish pride Forget He sees the upper, and I the under side. Not til the loom is silent, and shuttles cease to fly Will God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why The dark threads are as needful in the skillful Weaver's hand As threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned."

To all the family, please accept our sympathy. During this difficult time always rely on the God of all comfort ( 2 Corinthians 1:3-4) who comforts us in all our trials. Draw close to him in prayer and he will sustain you. ( Psalm55:22)

People come into your life for a reason and that is the case with Dr. Mitchell. I worked with Dr. Mitchell at Sweetwater Middle School for a number of years and she taught me patience. It was my pleasure to work with Dr. Mitchell. I loved hearing her stories about her family, working at Spellman, and her commitment to obtaining her doctorate. I vividly remember asking her one day about her decertation and for the rest of my planning period she went into great detail about her work and believe me she left nothing out. :). It was my honor and pleasure to work with such a phenomenal women. My thoughts and prays go out to the entire Mitchell family. With deep sympathy, Shirelle Tubbs

To the Mitchell Family: We are deeply sorry for your loss. Dr. Mitchell was a wonderful community member and family friend. I attended both high school and undergrad with Damien and Brian. Dr. Mitchell was always involved in various community activities, and also was a successful business owner. In fact, my fondest memory with Dr. Mitchell is the time my tv went out on Superbowl Sunday. She sold me a tv that afternoon in time for the game with a 'healthy' college discount! I will always remember her being that Mom that took care of us, whether is was around the neighborhood, or on the campus of Morehouse. Rest Well!--The Davenport Family!
