Mrs. Susie Mae Miles, 91, of Phenix City, AL died Monday, October 4, 2021 in Columbus, GA.

Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. EST, Monday, October 11, 2021 at Uchee Chapel A.M.E Church, Seale, AL. Visitation will be Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Mrs. Miles was born July 17, 1930 in Russell County, AL to the late Willie Sanks and the late Lillie Mae Walton.

She was a homemaker and caretaker of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Uchee Chapel A.M.E. Church, Seale, AL for over 70 years.

She married Solomon Miles, Jr. on June 25, 1959.

Susie Mae Miles, affectionately known to all as "Bigma" was loved by many. She will forever be known for her loving spirit, comical ways and stories, and loyalty to and love of her family. She loved going to church, cooking, listening to gospel music or the "spirituals" as she called them, watching the news, Price is Right and the Bachelor/Bachelorette.

She is preceded in death by her husband; three sons, Cugish Sanks, Cleveland Sanks and Elroy Miles, Sr.; one daughter-in-law, Lillie Sanks; one sister, Margaret Dawkins; one grandson, Christopher Preer-Sanks and two great-grandchildren, Gabriel Davis and Isaiah Allen.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Simmons and Patsy (Bradley) Luke, Jr. both of Phenix City, AL; three sons, Melton (Frances) Miles, Michael Miles, Sr. (Janis Holly) and Solomon Miles, III all of Columbus, GA; Daughter-in-law, Sheila Sanks of Birmingham, AL; Sister-in-law, Lillian (Glen) Butts of Phenix City, AL; 19 grandchildren, Patronya Sanks, Lasondra Davis, Seldrick (Jamika)Tarver, Nicole (Dearon) Tyler, Cugish Sanks, Curtis Sanks, Brandi Miles, Triandos (Lisa) Luke, Nicolas Luke, Brandon Miles, Kelcy (Alyse) Luke, Varisha Powell, Michael Miles, Jr., Elroy Miles, Jr., Justin Miles, Blake Miles, Yasmin Miles, Tesha (Prentiss) Temple, and Bryson Miles ; 39 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
