James "Jimmy" Edward Taylor, Sr. passed away at Hospice in Wentworth, NC. He was born December 24, 1948 to the the late George Edward and Mary Ann Blackstock Taylor. JIMMY attended Douglass High School in his young age he worked for the steel mill in Gary, Indiana. Later he resided back in his hometown and took his employment at Fieldcrest Cannon Mills and also FCR Plastics in Reidsville, NC. JIMMY loved to cook soul food, especially pinto beans, potato salad and cornbread. He also loved to tell his famous stories and leave you with memories and laughs for days.
JIMMY was also preceded in death by his sister, Mamie Jo Morehead and oldest son, Paul E. Taylor.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons; James Taylor (Junior) of Fort Hood, TX, Brian Taylor of Tyler Town, MS, Thomas Taylor of Gary, Indiana, daughter; Lakisha Matthews of Eden, NC, sister; Georgia Mae Smith of Eden, NC, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of relatives and close friends.
