Larry learned carpentry at an early age with Mosley Blakely. He picked up the trade of building homes from the bottom up. Some of those homes were built for family and friends. He pursued his work in carpentry and worked at Burlington Industries for 18 years. From there, he left his hometown of Hamlet, NC and moved to High Point, NC and started working with Merita Bakery. He decided to go back into carpentry and worked hard throughout his life up until his health declined. Larry's other true passion was with horses. He loved to ride horses in the parades and in horse shows.
Larry loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He never knew a stranger and was loved by all he knew and who met him.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Marilynn Sellers Bell; children, Trina (Kelvin) Clinton, Laron (Gerisha) Jones, Willie Shaw (fiancé Heather); eighteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Climon Quick, Troy (Ella) Quick, Andrew Wallace Miller, Lyon Bell, Quintes Quick, and Helen Lyles; sister-in-law, Loretta Bell; brother-in-law, Winford Sellers; his special niece, Vicki Witherspoon; god daughter, Melissa McNair; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
