Obituary For Mr. James Cooper

Born December 3, 1933 James Letton Cooper to the late James and Bertha Cooper, and the third son of nine children. Married in 1953 to Ms. Bernice Guice, and to this union was born a daughter Connie Cooper Hawkins, his only child. He committed his life to Christ at an early age. He was educated in the Alachua County School System. He held various positions in the construction industry.

As an active member of the Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Miami Gardens, Florida, he served as a deacon and a member of the male chorus for over 35 years. After leaving Miami, he became a dedicated member of Antioch Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in Titusville, Florida, and a member of the male chorus. He was an avid bowler and on 'several leagues and enjoyed fishing.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Millie Cooper for over 38 years, and his brothers Horace and Harold Cooper. Among those who will cherish his memory are: his Daughter Connie; two Granddaughters Brittny and Christina; Great-Granddaughter Alyssa; God-son Alvin Evans; and special Niece Ethel Baker (Tennessee) , Emanuel Cooper (Mammie) Titusville, FL; Gladys Fayson (George) Titusville, FL; Bertha Hickman (Izell) Titusville, FL; Joe Louis Cooper, Buffalo, NY; Beatrice Flagg (Henry), Alachua, FL; Verdell McKinney (Arthur), Ormond Beach, FL; a special sister Charlotte Weatherspoon, Winter Garden, FL and nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of loving friends Grissom- Clark Funeral Home .
