Obituary For Rosie L. Martin Morris

Rosie L. Martin Morris, 75, of Walkertown, NC, died October 7, 2021. A public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday October 12, 2021, at Perry- Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at St. Mary’s United Methodist Church, Walnut Cove, NC with the service will begin at 2:00 p.m. The burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC.

Mrs. Rosie Lee Martin Morris was born to the late Mable Dixon Martin and Raleigh Matthew Martin, Sr. on April 17, 1946 in Stokes County. She departed this life on October 7, 2021. She attended Stokes County School and was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s United Methodist Church where she served on the United Methodist Women’s Group, Usher Board and the Kitchen Committee until her health declined. She retired from RJ Reynolds Brooke Cove Division.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Jean Dixon Gray, Mona Martin Chandler, four brothers, Samuel L. Dixon, William Dixon, John Henry Dixon, Thomas Earl Martin, Floyd Martin and Wayne Martin.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband; Carlos C. Morris, Sr., daughter; Yvonne Monique Verdell (Jeff) of Walkertown, NC, the loves of her heart three granddaughters; Camille Verdell, Chole Verdell, Lynn Verdell, two stepsons; Maurice Price (Tina), Mike Morris (Stephanie), three stepdaughters; McKever Morris (Lisa), Jackie Morris (Carlos), Shelia Morris (Belinda), two brothers; Robert Milton Martin (Vera), Raleigh Matthew Martin, Jr. (Delphine), one brother-in-law; Alan Morris (Alma), sister-in-law; Betty Dixon, her close friend; Dorothy Danzy and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
