Mr. Carl Columbus Swan, Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 30, 1979 to Carl Columbus Swain, Sr. and the late Shirley Mae Swain.

Carl went to Booker T. Washington High School until the 12th grade and then transferred to the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center in Louisville, Ky. He also pursued a degree at Westwood College in Roswell, Ga. Throughout the years Carl worked in several fields including, industrial, carpentry, automotive and construction. Carl, Jr. will be remembered by his smile and laugh.

Sadly, on Sunday, October 3, 2021 our beloved Carl was taken away too soon. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Shirley M. Swain, paternal grandfather Eddie James Swain, grandmother Edna Roberta Swain, maternal grandmother Annie Lucille Williams.

He leaves behind one son, Machaci Swain, one grandson, brother Curtis Swain, sister Sabrina, two nieces: Brianna and Santana Mack; uncles: Clarence Swain, Melvin Swain; aunt: Shirley Jones; great aunt: Betsy Lee Davis; special cousins: Henrietta, Alice, Joseph, Geneva Holcomb, Josephine Royal, Rose Jones and Tommy Williams. He also leaves a host of cousins, great nieces, great nephews, other family and friends.
